I never imagined I鈥檇 be back in a classroom in my 30s鈥攍et alone falling in love with welding, the very craft I watched my father master during his 43 years at the Georgetown Steel Mill.

This scholarship didn鈥檛 just cover costs鈥攊t covered doubts. It gave me space to breathe, believe, and fully commit to becoming a skilled welder. Now, I walk into the shop with confidence, knowing I鈥檓 not just chasing a career鈥擨鈥檓 honoring a legacy.

After the military, I needed a new mission. Welding became that mission. Coaching youth football became my way to give back鈥攖o be the kind of mentor I once needed. Every spark in the booth and every moment on the field reminds me: we rise by lifting others.
